Vikingaberget Castle

The castle Vikingaberget is at a high more than 70 meters hillside on the island Ekerö in the same municipality , west of Stockholm in Uppland in Sweden . Vikingaberget is one of about ten prehistoric remains in the forest and recreation area Jungfrusundsåsen, which mainly consist of graves and burial grounds from the Bronze Age .

On the lower slopes of the mountain to the west, north and east there are walls that were about 100 meters long, 1.5 to 4 meters wide and nearly 0.6 meters high. They collapsed in the south. The western wall is a double wall with two 22 meter and 17 meter long sections, about 10 meters apart. The eastern wall also has two sections. They are 10 and 50 meters long and have the only access that is around 15.0 meters wide. In the slope there is a lower outer wall that is about 10 meters long and is made up of a series of angled stones and blocks.
