history

The task of Wildeneck Castle remains a mystery to this day. It is said that the castles Wildeneck and Haslach were built there to defend the village of Altdorf. Another legend is told today by the inhabitants, according to which there is a secret passage between the two castles, which has not yet been proven. After a fire in the castle, it became uninhabitable. In the 18th century, the stones from the castle were used to build the Weingarten parish church. To date there are only a few writings in which Wildeneck Castle is mentioned. The only remnant of the castle is a small stone wall, which will deteriorate more and more in a few years due to the weather.

The castle stable shows only a few stones today.
