The Burgahnl is the 4412 kg bell in the bell tower of Hohenwerfen Fortress . It was cast in Innsbruck in 1568 by Hans Christoph Löffler from the famous bell foundry family. The bell tower in which it hangs is the old keep of the Altburg, which was rebuilt (shortened, rounded) in the 16th century. The bell was originally rung alternately using forged iron levers, but today it is rung with a wheel drive.

It is under monument protection together with the castle complex . In the castle fire of 1931, in which a large part of the building was destroyed, it was barely able to be saved. The bell is rung to this day on major holidays.
