The Burgenland Homeland Papers are a quarterly publication on local history in Burgenland . The editor is the Burgenland Provincial Archives and the Burgenland Provincial Library as part of their agenda as a “regional research center”. The Heimatblätter appeared from 1927 onwards under the names “Messages from the Burgenland Heritage and Nature Conservation Association” and “Burgenland - Quarterly Books for Regional Studies, Heritage Protection and Monument Preservation”. Since 1932 the magazine has been called "Burgenland Homeland Papers".
In terms of content, the Heimatblätter see themselves as a universal scientific publication for all areas of regional studies. Folklore observations, scientific and historical topics are dealt with. The Burgenland homeland sheets are designed to be open to all authors who are responsible for the content themselves. Among the authors are important Burgenland local researchers such as the former director of the Burgenland State Archives and the State Library, Josef Karl Homma .
Two index volumes have been published for the first 80 years.
