The Burgringrennen was a local race for motorcycles and small racing cars with displacements up to 750  cm³ , which took place in Monschau , Eifel .

A total of five races took place from 1948 to 1952 in downtown Monschau on a 4.9 km long circuit. The castle ring races had to be stopped when urban races were banned in 1952. The last race was held on June 8, 1952. This year the audience record was also reached with 40,000 people, some of whom came from neighboring Belgium and the Netherlands . 55 drivers started.

The paddock as well as the start and finish were at today's swimming pool and school. The road was 399 . You drove in a sharp bend into the city and crossed it to the junction of Laufenstrasse with the federal road. From there it went back south in a sharp bend.

Partly the course ran over cobblestones . The best drivers completed a lap in 2 minutes and 57 seconds, which corresponds to an average speed of 99.7 km / h.

The then MCM (Motorsport Club Monschau) and the Düsseldorf motorcycle racing association acted as organizers.
