The castle stable of the ring wall is located about 750 meters west of the village of Bamme, directly south of the hamlet of Bammer Aufbau in the middle of a drained, formerly swampy wetland. It is almost circular, has a diameter of about 50 meters and is forested with a population of English oak . The Gräninger Seegraben, a drainage ditch, runs directly to the west of the facility . The castle wall can still be seen around three quarters of the way from the castle. This rises about one meter above the surrounding level. The wall shows a fault to the south . It was interrupted or removed at this point. A castle moat about half a meter below level can be seen running around the wall .

The ring wall is said to date from the 7th or 8th century. Archaeologically, a suburb settlement could be proven to the south and east . The castle is believed to have been abandoned in the 9th century . The fortification consisted of a construction made of wood and earth. During its period of use, the moat is said to have been around 15 meters wide. The southern damage to the wall dates from the 19th century, when the interior of the former castle was used for agriculture.
