The castle wall of Biesenthal , a town in the Barnim district , is located in the north of the town on the Reihersberg. It is the stables of a Slavic rampart .
The almost 50 meter large oval castle wall has been preserved up to four meters high and is located on a natural sand island on the Finow river . The castle existed from the 10th to the 12th centuries. To the west of the ramparts, surface finds reveal a settlement on the outer bailey. The castle wall was probably an aristocratic and main seat of the Slavs in the Finow area and in the northwestern Barnim. Several Slavic villages existed between the upper Finow and the Wandlitzsee .
