The hill wall of Hungerstorf , a district of the municipality of Faulenrost in the Mecklenburg Lake District , is a Slavic hill wall on the road from Schwabendorf to Hungerstorf.
The Niederungsburg was on the Kittendorfer Peene and belongs to the Old Slavonic period from the 7th to 9th centuries. The castle has already been badly affected by its use as pasture . The former Wallburg is hardly recognizable as such in the area. The oval castle area was over 150 meters in size and at that time lay in swampy meadows. It can therefore be assumed that the former access to the fortifications took the form of a wooden bridge. At that time, the castle wall was in the tribal area of the Wilzen and represented a refuge in times of need. A little further south-east is the castle wall Clausdorf , which may be the successor system.
