Burkhard Schäffer

Burkhard Schäffer (* 1959 ) is a German educational scientist.

Life

He studied pedagogy at the TU Berlin and "Qualitative Methods in Social Sciences" at the FU Berlin . He was a member of the DFG research project on the exclusion experiences of young people in the district. After completing his doctorate in 1996 with a thesis on the topic of “Stylistic finding processes in adolescence. The search for collective style elements in the context of pop music practice. A comparison of milieus and culture. ”He was a research assistant and senior assistant at the chair of media education and adult education at the University of Magdeburg . After completing his habilitation in Magdeburg in 2002 with a thesis on the subject of “Generation, new media and practical knowledge. For the empirical reconstruction of generation-specific media practice cultures and intergenerational educational processes ”, he represented a C3 professorship for“ Educational Theory and Qualitative Methods ”at the University of Wuppertal in the 2002 summer semester . In the winter semester 2002/2003 and summer semester 2003 he was a C4 professor for adult education at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In February 2006 he was appointed professor for adult education / advanced training at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .
