Burkhardt Quarck

Burkhardt Quarck (born June 13, 1843 in Coburg ; † July 2, 1909 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Quarck attended the Casimirianum high school in Coburg until 1863. He then studied law in Jena in 1863/64 , in Heidelberg in 1864/65 , in Leipzig in the summer semester of 1865 and finally again in Jena in the following winter semester. After passing the state examinations, he was admitted to the Coburg bar in December 1868. From 1883 to 1900 he was a member of the magistrate of the ducal residence city of Coburg. In 1894 Quarck was given the honorary title of Councilor of Justice , and then in 1909 of the Privy Councilor. From 1906 he was awarded the Knight's Cross First Class of the Saxon-Ernestine House Order .

From 1907 Quarck was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha 1 ( Coburg ) and the National Liberal Party . The mandate ended with his death, his son Hermann Quarck ran in the by-election in 1909, but was defeated by the Social Democrat Fritz Zietsch before he won his father's previous mandate in 1912.
