- a grass that grows on Swiss alpine pastures: the upright bromus erectus . It creates the “burst meadow” that is typical there.
- a sub-municipality of the Belgian Erpe-Mere, see Burst (Flanders) ;
- from the English term for: "outbreak", "burst" or "accumulation" in general the multiple, bundled occurrence of an event. Derived from this in various areas:
- In the PAL standard the signal for synchronizing the color carrier;
- In electromagnetic compatibility, a low-energy, high-frequency interference pulse that occurs when switching inductive circuits;
- In analog measurement technology, a discrete package of sinusoidal oscillations with a fixed frequency, see burst signal ;
