Burtonport ( Irish : Ailt an Chorráin ) is a small port town with 270 inhabitants (2006) in the Rosses in County Donegal in the north-west of the Republic of Ireland . Burtonport is an independent Gaeltacht ; Ailt an Chorráin is the official name of the place. The next larger town is Dungloe ( An Clochán Liath ).

The main employers in the city are the fishing companies “Burtonport Fishermen's Co-op” and “Bord Iascaigh Mhara”. Between 1903 and 1940 Burtonport was connected to a regional railway network.
