The Figueira da Foz railway station (also Estação da Figueira da Foz or Estação Ferroviária de Figueira da Foz ) is a railway station in the Portuguese town of Figueira da Foz . The inner-city location, terminal station is the terminus of the Linha do Oeste and since 2009 exposed Ramal da Figueira da Foz .
The Figueira da Foz train station forms a structural unit with the Figueira da Foz bus station , but they have their own separate ticket halls.
history
The station opened on August 3, 1882, as the end of the Linha da Beira Alta . The connection to the Linha do Oeste took place on July 17, 1888.
The once important maintenance unit of the CP and later the EMEF at Figueira station lost its importance over the years and was finally closed completely in 2011.
traffic
In the meantime, only local and regional traffic ( Urbanos , Regionais , Interregionais ) operates here , after the station was also served by Intercidades until 1997 .
Directly next to the actual train station is the city's central bus station , which is served by local and regional bus routes, but also into the nationwide long-distance bus network of Rede Expressos u. a. is involved.
