history

On September 1, 1925, the then only 16 years old Willy Müller opened together with the master toolmaker August Busch (later Ortsgruppenleiter the NSDAP ) a company for the production of cat's eyes , as they then were by a law on mandatory equipment for bicycles.

post war period

After the Second World War , the customer was given Opel glasses for the taillights and in return received an Opel Blitz that was used for transport. From 1957 to 1985 the rear-view mirrors for the Opel Kadett and Opel Rekord models were supplied.

Further innovative developments for lighting vehicles, especially bicycles, are documented by the patents between 1996 and 2007, which, according to the company , are affected by plagiarism .

The company's product range now includes: rear reflectors , tail lights, bicycle headlights , dynamos , rearview mirrors, chain guards, side support wheels for children's bicycles and other two-wheeler accessories. Busch & Müller manufactures a total of over 500 different products for the two-wheeled industry.

The company's new developments include the automatic light (automatic switching on and off by means of a light-dark sensor) and the free-form surface headlights for bicycles. These are headlights with a clear lens, the light distribution being taken over by a computer-calculated mirror reflector. For some years now, LED headlights have also been offered for bicycles, which also use free-form reflectors to focus the light. Their light beam is wider and brighter than conventional bicycle headlights. There is also a new rear light for hub dynamos with an integrated brake light . In 2007, Busch & Müller developed the first gas discharge headlight for bicycles that meets the requirements of the German road traffic regulations.
