Busserlzug

The Busserlzug was or, more correctly, the Busserlzug were a specialty of many Austrian and Viennese summer resorts.

Name and story

Busserlzug or Busserlzzüge were popularly referred to as those rail connections between Vienna and the Austrian summer resort regions, which brought working men to their families in the country on weekends (but also before and after public holidays) and men back to their families on Sunday evenings Workplaces hijacked: “During these weeks or months, married and family life was concentrated on a few vacations and public holidays as well as weekends, which is why the greetings of husbands and fathers, who were eagerly awaited on Saturdays and farewell on Sundays with a heavy heart, should have been so tender or stormy that these rail connections were soon popularly called bus trains.
