The butynes are a group of substances from the alkynes group . It consists of two isomeric compounds with the empirical formula C 4 H 6 :

which differ significantly in their reactions because of the position of the triple bond.

Butynes ​​are sparingly soluble in water, but are good in ethanol and ether . They are highly flammable and burn with a sooty flame.
