Butterbean's Café is an Irish - American television series for preschool children that has been in production since 2018. The first broadcast in German-speaking countries was on February 3, 2019. Nick Jr. to see.

Butterbean's Café is located in the magical land of Puddlebrook and follows its title character Butterbean , a young fairy who works in her own café with the help of her sister Cricket and her friends Poppy , Dazzle and Jasper . The café's guests are made up of anthropomorphic chipmunks and rabbits. Next to the cafe lives the sullen Mrs. Marmalady who plans to ruin Butterbean, but fails with every plan. In a running gag , a different figure breaks through the fourth wall in each episode by explaining the situations in the episode to the viewer. Together, the fairies conjure up amazing treats in most of the episodes. If the delicacy is successfully saved, Butterbean plants a colorful surprise bean, which ends the episode with special effects called "The Fairy Finish".

Production and publication

The series was made by Brown Bag Films and directed by Damien O'Connor and Richard Keane . The idea came from Robert Scull and Jonny Belt and the music was composed by Mike Barnett . Stephen O'Connor was the artistic director and the character design was created by Melissa Ballesteros . A total of 43 episodes were created.

The series aired in two seasons. The first with 40 episodes was shown for the first time from November 12, 2018 to December 29, 2019 at Nickelodeon in the USA. This was followed by broadcasts in Brazil and Hungary, among others. The German version was shown for the first time from February 3 to 13, 2019 at Nick Jr. The second season has been broadcast in the USA since January 12, 2020.
