Buy Local (translated: Buy local) is a nationwide quality offensive by owner-managed companies with the aim of sensitizing consumers to the effects of purchasing decisions. Because this has concrete effects on the quality of life in their own region. In addition, a variety of owner-managed companies ensure that the city centers remain attractive. Buy Local acts as a contact for local and regional companies in order to create local networks throughout Germany.
Origin and development
Buy Local began in the book trade, which wanted to counter the increasing pressure from internationally operating Internet mail order companies. It turned out that there are similar problems in other industries, since then BUY LOCAL eV has been representing the interests of owner-managed regional companies in all industries in public. In the meantime, various companies from the retail, service and craft sectors belong to the association.
