Rainer Pigulla

Rainer Pigulla (born March 1, 1928 in Laband ; † May 6, 2013 ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Pigulla received his first engagement in 1956 at the Christian State Theater of Württemberg in Stuttgart. This was followed by stage positions at the Landesbühne Neckar-Rhein-Main in Bruchsal and in 1959 in Neuwied and in the following years in Neuss and Essen. In 1977 he moved to the ensemble of the Staatliche Bühnen Berlin, where he worked until the Schiller Theater was closed in 1993. In addition to his acting activities, from 1977 he also acted as chairman of the local association of the State Theaters of Berlin and in this activity he campaigned for social issues of the stage workers, for example in questions of the right to have a say and the participation of artists in the appointment of artistic directors and arbitration proceedings.

Occasionally Pigulla also worked in film and television productions. Initially, the productions were limited to television recordings of stage productions such as Das Verhör von Habana , which was performed at the Essen Municipal Theaters under the direction of Hagen Müller-Stahl . He also worked in television productions such as the Remarque film The Black Obelisk , directed by Peter Deutsch , and starred in films such as Loriot's Ödipussi and Kai Wessel's Trace of the Red Barrels . He also took on numerous guest roles in various television series and series such as Tatort , Shift in White , Detective Agency Roth , It doesn't always have to be murder , A home for animals and Eurocops .

Pigulla also worked as a narrator for radio play and dubbing. He has worked in radio play productions such as Der kleine Lord (DLR 1997) and several episodes of the Professor van Dusen series and lent his voice as a voice actor , including Derrick O'Connor in End of Days, and Joel Gray in the Private series Practice and Don S. Davis in multiple episodes of the X-Files series , The FBI's Scary Cases .

His daughter was the actress, news anchor and voice actress Franziska Pigulla .

Rainer Pigulla died in May 2013 at the age of 85. His grave is in the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend (grave location: 16-F-1).
