The Feumotech AG is a Swiss manufacturer of fire engines based in Recherswil in Canton Solothurn .

history

1989 to 1999

Feumotech AG was founded in 1989 by Stefan Cartier and Peter Jäggi in Recherswil. The first location was a basement of 200 m² and the office on the first floor of an old industrial building in Recherswil. In addition to the two owners, there were three employees in the start team. As early as June 1989, at the “Municipality 89” exhibition in Bern , Feumotech presented its first two vehicles, including the first tank tender in Switzerland with equipment compartments deeply drawn on both sides between the front and rear axles and open at full height. In the same year Feumotech took over the representation of GFT ( Geisselmann Feuerwehr Technik GmbH ), based in Bad Friedrichshall , Germany, for Switzerland. From then on, large vehicles such as tank fire engines and rescue vehicles were built by GFT, the interior fittings for the Swiss market were carried out by Feumotech in Recherswil. In order to meet the increased space requirements, a new hall with 750 m² was moved in 1991. The workforce grew to nine employees during this time.

In order to be able to better respond to customer requirements, tank fire engines and rescue vehicles were also manufactured in-house from the summer of 1993. The construction was carried out with the screwable Veraflex module system from Alusuisse . Hale-Godiva rear pumps , which had already been used in the GFT vehicles, were installed as pumps . In 1996 Feumotech AG took over the entire fire department of Robert Aebi AG and Wirz Fahrzeugbau AG (formerly Hauser Fahrzeugbau AG), as well as the agency for turntable ladders from Metz Aerials and their entire service area for Metz fire engines in Switzerland. In 1999, fire fighting vehicles with CAFS extinguishing systems were added to the range.

2000 to 2009

Due to the strong growth of the company, a new workshop was built in Recherswil in 2001 with approx. 2000 m² of usable space as well as a built-in pump test bench and an attached administration wing. The workforce grew to seventeen during this time. In 2006, Feumotech AG took over all fire service activities from Leo Fahrzeugbau AG Niederbipp . In the same year, the first fire trucks with CAN bus controls and monitoring screens were delivered. In 2007 the first fire truck with regulated tank level regulation was produced. The increasing space requirement of the customer service department in 2009 required a separate hall for service and repair work in addition to the production hall. In 2009 the company employed 33 people.

From 2010

In 2012, the first 18-meter car turntable ladder (was GIMAEX -Feumotech) delivered in Switzerland and in 2014 the first car turntable ladder made DLAK 23-12 (with bend) of GIMAEX-Feumotech in Switzerland into service. In 2014, the company had 40 employees and two trainees training to become vehicle fitters.
