Cœur Défense is the name of a skyscraper in the Paris suburb of Courbevoie in the office district of La Défense . Construction began in 1999. When it was completed in September 2001, the 161  m high office tower was the seventh tallest in the La Défense business district. The skyscraper has 39 floors above ground and an area of ​​approximately 350,000 square meters. This makes it the largest building in Europe and the third largest building in the world. The building was designed by the architect Jean-Paul Viguier .

The office tower is the Metro station La Defense and the La Defense station to the public transport in the Paris bound.
