Regulations and standards

These certifications by the CCAP are based on state regulations and laws, the Chinese National Standards (GB Standards) and the corresponding Implementation Rules.

aims

The aim of the CCAP is to ensure a high quality standard for automotive products in China and to continuously increase it. The test features of the certification are particularly in the areas of safety, environmental protection and energy saving. These are examined both for the production process itself and with regard to the product life cycle .

Organization and employees

If an automotive part is subject to CCC certification, it is generally not allowed to be sold in China without a CCC certificate and CCC marking. The certification requirement therefore not only applies to products that are manufactured in China, but also to those that are produced abroad and exported to China. For this reason, the CCAP carries out CCC certifications both within China and internationally. To this end, it employs a large number of auditors who are specially trained in state institutions and thus receive their qualifications. Numerous test laboratories accredited by the CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) are affiliated with the CCAP. These are particularly geared towards the safety and fire tests of automotive products. The CCAP is currently headed by Mr. Qiang Yi, who has been in office since 2008. The predecessor was Mr. Huang Xueping, who ran the agency from 2002 to 2008. Under him, the CCAP has grown to an authority with around 80 permanent engineers and around 100 part-time CCC inspectors.
