China Quality Certification Center

The China Quality Certification Center (CQC, Chinese  中国 质量 认证 中心 , Pinyin Zhōng Guó Zhèliáng Rènzhèng Zhōngxīn ) is a Chinese authority based in Beijing , which is responsible for the implementation of product certifications. It controls compliance with product standards and the quality of goods that are sold on the Chinese market or distributed in China.

The CQC is subordinate to the CCIC ( China Certification & Inspection Group , Chinese  中国 检验 认证 集团 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Jiǎnyàn Rènzhèng Jítuán ). The authority is approved by the AQSIQ ( State General Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine , Chinese  国家 质量 监督 检验 检疫 总局 , Pinyin Guójiā Zhìliàng Jiāndū Jiǎnyàn Jiǎnyì Zǒngjú ) and the CNCA ( Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China , Chinese  中国 国家 认证 认可 监督 管理 委员会 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Guójiā Rènzhèng Rènkě Jiāndū Guǎnlǐ Wěiyuánhuì Zhōngguó Jiǎnyàn Rènzhèng Jítuán Bùláiméi Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī ).

history

The authority emerged from the CCEE ( China Commission for Conformity Certification of Electrical Equipment ) founded in 1985 . In April 2002, the CQC was created through the amalgamation of various organizations and official agencies (including the China National Import & Export Commodities Inspection Corporation Quality Certification Center , the Electrical Equipment Subcommittee , Home Appliance Subcommittee and the CCIB Beijing Review Office ). In September 2007 the authority went through a restructuring program and was subordinated to the 2007 newly founded CCIC. Currently, the CQC is the largest certification body in China.

Main areas of activity

The main focus of activity is the implementation of product certifications. The CQC product portfolio includes a. the compulsory CCC certifications , voluntary CQC certifications , the certification of management and quality systems and the organization and orientation of training courses and seminars in the certification area. The CQC is also officially authorized by the Japanese government to carry out mandatory product certification ( PSE (standard) ) for Japanese products. The CQC has already created 27 certification bodies in 19 countries and regions. In addition to CCC certifications of electrical products, the CQC also carries out hundreds of certifications of automotive parts every year, similar to the China Certification Center for Automotive Products .

The CQC reports directly to the CCIC (China Certification & Inspection Group). The agency is divided into three main departments: the management department, governing bodies and the technical committee. 17 specialist departments, each with several sub-units, are organized below this.
