B-lymphocyte antigen CD20 is a surface protein on the cell surface of B cells . It is phosphorylated and palmitoylated . CD20, which is also known as MS4A1 as a member of the MS4A family, is characterized by four conserved transmembrane domains that are flanked by N- and C-terminal cytoplasmic domains. CD20 is involved in the humoral immune response . It binds to MHCII and regulates the activation of the B cell receptor . Rituximab binds to CD20, as does ocrelizumab .
