CEZ Shpërndarje Sh. pk was an electricity company operating in Albania , which operated under this name from October 1, 2010 to January 2013. Its headquarters were in Tirana .

history

On March 11, 2009, the Czech company ČEZ bought 76 percent of the shares in Operatori i Sistemit të Shpërndarjes (OSSH for short), a subsidiary of the state-owned Korporata Elektroenergjitike Shqiptare , for around 102 million euros . In October 2008, ČEZ won the tender, after which the contract was signed on March 30, 2009.

In December 2012, ČEZ announced that it wanted to sell CEZ Shpërndarje . One could not agree with the government how potential losses could be reduced. In January 2013, the Albanian authorities revoked the company's license and ČEZ sued the Albanian government.

Since January 10, 2013, 76 percent of the shares owned by ČEZ in Albania have been for sale. Meanwhile, the tasks of CEZ Shpërndarje Sh. pk taken over by the Albanian energy regulator.

The newly come to power-Rama government announced through its energy minister Damian Gjiknuri in October 2013 that it wanted to reach an out-of-court settlement with the Czech company. This was achieved on June 24, 2014 after the Czech Republic threatened to block Albania from being granted EU candidate status . ČEZ is now to receive 100 million euros as compensation from the Albanian state by 2018.

CEZ Shpërndarje was familiar with the transmission and supply of the medium and low voltage networks . In addition, the sale of electrical energy was one of the company's main tasks.
