The forest railway Orăştie was a forest railway of the Romanian state company Căile Ferate Forestiere (CFF). It was opened in 1949 and closed in 1980.

The Valea Rea , Valea Mică and Timpu were opened up through the 62 kilometer long and widely branched network of routes . The steam locomotives , in the end there were nine, were equipped with standard gauge buffers and additional pulling and pushing devices. With their help, they were able to move standard-gauge freight wagons in the transfer station to the Căile Ferate Române state railway .
