The CH gel Barcelona was a Spanish Hockey Club of Barcelona , which in the period 1979 to 1986 for five years in the Super League played.
history
The CH Gel Barcelona was founded in 1979 and immediately took part in the Superliga , the highest Spanish ice hockey division. After two eighth places in the first two seasons, Barcelona relegated to the Segunda División . With a second place in the 1981/82 season, the immediate resurgence succeeded. Again, the club stayed in the super league for two years before relegating in 1984. In the following season, the Catalans won the second division championship and achieved the only title in their club history. Due to financial problems, the club had to stop playing during the 1985/86 season.
Following the dissolution of the club, the Catalan sports club FC Barcelona reactivated its ice hockey department and continued the tradition of the CH Gel Barcelona.
