The Corporación de la Industria Aeronáutica Colombiana SA ( German  Society of the Aviation Industry of Colombia SA , CIAC ) is a state organization that was founded by law on May 9, 1956 , so that the aircraft of the Colombian Air Force can be repaired in the country and aircraft can also be produced .

In the meantime, aircraft are also being converted or modernized and spare parts manufactured. In 2008, the CIAC partnered with Indumil ( Industria Militar Colombiana ) to jointly develop the Iris drone . In 2009, the joint venture with Lancair was added, which included participation in the development and assembly of the kits supplied by Lancair for the CIAC T-90 Calima as well as their further development. In the meantime, the company is also supplying parts for the Embraer KC-390 .
