CJRT-FM

CJRT-FM is a Canadian public radio station based in Toronto . The transmitter broadcasts on VHF 91.1 M Hz . CJRT works as JAZZ.FM91 with studios on Pardee Avenue in Liberty Village in the West End, while the station is on top of the CN Tower . It is sent with 40  kW .

It was founded in 1949 as an experimental VHF station. It was the second in Canada and was operated by the Ryerson Institute of Technology (later Ryerson University ). The callsign JRT stands for "Journalism, Radio, Technology", which are the three goals of the institute.

From 1964 the station got full-time employees and expanded its program.
