CKQB-FM (The Bear 10.9) is a privately owned radio broadcaster based in Ottawa , Canada . The transmitter broadcasts an active rock music format with an output of 84 kW on the frequency 106.9 MHz . The station is operated by Bell Media .

history

The station began broadcasting on August 31, 1982 and was operated by Standard Broadcasting on the 540 AM frequency with an output of 50,000 watts (during the day) and 10,000 watts (at night). Initially a mix was sent. A short time later, they switched to easy listening . In 1987 the conversion to the adult contemporary format with the station name 54 Lite Rock took place . On September 1, 1994 AM broadcasting was discontinued and the program was broadcast on FM.
