CLIP Seq

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CLIP-Seq ( cross-linking immunoprecipitation-high-throughput sequencing , 'cross-linking and immunoprecipitation with sequencing in high-throughput' ) is a method of biochemistry for the investigation of RNA-protein and RNA-RNA interactions. Sometimes the CLIP-Seq is also referred to as the HITS-CLIP .

principle

The CLIP-Seq consists of a combination of a UV - cross-linking , an immunoprecipitation , a partial nucleolysis and a DNA sequencing in high throughput .

The CLIP-Seq has similarities to the PAR-CLIP , the iCLIP , the RIP-Chip (without cross-linking and with a microarray instead of DNA sequencing), the SELEX , the ChIP-Seq (for investigating DNA- protein interactions) and the ChIP-on-Chip (for studying DNA-protein interactions with a microarray instead of DNA sequencing).
