CNN-D (CNN Germany) started in 1997 and was broadcast on the cable station of CNN in Germany. CNN-D was last broadcast three times a day as 15-minute news blocks. At first it was broadcast twice a day. In the Internet, CNN-D cooperated with n-tv, they operated a joint website at the addresses cnn.de and n-tv.de.

The operation of the program window CNN-D ceased on January 1, 2004. The employees continued to be employed by the DFA. The reason for the setting was that the program window no longer matched the program strategy.
