Caffè Shakerato ( Italian "shaken coffee") is a cold drink made from ice and espresso , which is very popular in Italy as a caffeinated soft drink, especially in the hot summer months.

Ice cubes are shaken together with espresso and sugar in a cocktail shaker until frothy. Depending on the taste, vanilla , grappa or a dash of lemon is added. The Caffè Shakerato is usually served in a cocktail glass or a wine glass. The shaken coffee can also be served with chocolate sauce or cream .
