reception

Cairo was largely rated positively by the specialist publications, but early criticisms were an initially immature style and insufficient independence.

"All in all, the material [...] is typical of any other post-1990 progressive band."

- Mike DeGagne, AllMusic Guide

"On their first album [...] the progressive rock elements often appeared forced and exaggerated."

- François Couture, AllMusic Guide

Later reviews attested the band an increasing maturation and successful connection between the progressive rock greats of the 1970s and a catchy, contemporary and at the same time novel sound.
