Beaches and bays in Mallorca

Cala d'Estellencs (also Cala Estellencs) is a bay on the west coast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca .

Location and description

Cala d'Estellencs, beach bar

The bay of Cala d'Estellencs is located approx. 1.5 km northwest of the municipality of Estellencs . The nearest port is Port d'Andratx and is about 13 nautical miles to the southwest.

The small bay, with its 80 meter long and 10 meter wide beach made of rocks, stones and gravel, is less suitable for swimming and is mainly used as a mooring for small fishing and sport boats. The fishing boats can be housed out of the water in stone boathouses to protect them from storms. All around the bay rise high vertical walls made of red clay and slopes overgrown with pine trees. The Son Fortuny torrent flows into the sea in the bay. There is also a small beach bar by the bay, where drinks and snacks are offered in the high season.

Access

Cala d'Estellencs, access from Carretera al Mar

From the Ma-10 in Estellencs two sloping, approx. 1.9 km long streets (Carretera al Puerto and Carretera al Mar) lead to a small parking lot above the bay. Both routes can also be managed on foot and offer fantastic views of Estellencs and the 1027 meter high Puig de Galatzó .
