Calatin

Calatin [ 'kaladʴiːn ], also Cailitin or Calaitin , is a legendary magician in the Celtic mythology of Ireland . Calatin is also considered the father of the Badb .

In the story Aided Chon Culainn ("The Death of Cú Chulainn") it is reported that he was one of the most dangerous opponents of Cú Chulainn and was defeated by him. His children, "Clan Calatin", however, were sent to Persia by Queen Medb in order to train them in the magical arts. When they returned, they were defeated in a fight by Cu Chullain, who also lost his life in the process.
