Caledonian Brewery
The Caledonian Brewery is a brewery founded in Edinburgh , Scotland in 1869 . It is not to be confused with the former Caledonian Distillery .
The brewery was originally called Lorimer and Clark Caledonian Brewery , named after its two founders, George Lorimer and Robert Clark.
In 2004, Scottish & Newcastle acquired land and facilities . The trademark rights went to a newly founded Caledonian Brewing Company (CBC) , which was also responsible for the operation of the brewery and in which S&N held a 30% stake. In 2008 Scottish & Newcastle took over the CBC completely. The Caledonian Brewery has been part of the Heineken Group since the takeover of S&N by Heineken and Carlsberg in the same year.
