Calocerus

Calocerus († around 121) was an early bishop of Ravenna .

Calocerus is said to have been of Greek origin and was possibly stationed as a soldier in Brescia . Bishop Apollinaris is said to have converted him to Christianity and ordained a priest. He finally became the fourth successor to Apollinaris in the episcopate and is said to have died a martyr under Emperor Hadrian at the age of 100 , whereby his story of suffering is associated with that of Faustinus and Jovita .

Calocerus is venerated as a saint . His feast day is February 11th .
