Cambaluc (also Khanbaliq , Khaanbalgas [Balgas was then used as a city by the Mongols], Khanbalykh, Kanbalu , Dadu , Daidu ) is the name used in the Middle Ages, among others by Marco Polo , for the capital of China ( Beijing ) was under Mongol rule during the Yuan Dynasty .
