Camera was the first magazine in Switzerland to be illustrated with photographs .

Founded in 1922 as an illustrated monthly magazine for professional photographers and amateurs , this internationally important photo magazine was published by C. J. Bucher Verlag ( Lucerne ) until 1981. The international monthly magazine for photography and film , as it was called, was available to subscribe worldwide and appeared in German, English and French language.

The editor-in-chief of the magazine was Allan Porter , New York / Lucerne, the editorial staff also included R. E. Martinez, Paris, Emil Bühler, Lucerne, and Max Albert Wyss , Lucerne, the technical editor was L. A. Mannheim, London.
