Campelo is a locality and former municipality in northern Portugal .
administration
Campelo belongs to the Baião district in the Porto district . The community had an area of 15.1 km² and 3243 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal in 2013, the municipality of Campelo was merged with the municipality of Ovil to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Campelo e Ovil . The seat of the new municipality is Campelo.
