Campeonato de Apertura (Chile)

The Campeonato de Apertura was a Chilean football competition that was held from 1933 to 1950, with the exception of 1935, 1936, 1939, 1946 and 1948 with a changing mode and name as a pre-season tournament. It is often viewed as the predecessor of the Chilean cup competition, the Copa Chile .

The competition should not be confused with the Torneo de Apertura , the half-season championship of the soccer championship of Chile .

The clubs Santiago FC and Morning Star SC merged in 1936 to form CD Santiago Morning.
