Camping Card

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Camping Cards" are issued by various organizations. They serve to identify the camper to the campsite operator. Insurance cover and discounts on participating courses themselves or for other facilities (e.g. ferries) are also often included. Camping cards with ID function contain the essential data such as name, address, date of birth and reference to the official identity document (number). Some places still require the submission of an official identification document; in some countries - e.g. B. Italy - this is required by law. Some sites only accept campers who are in possession of a Camping Card and / or who can prove liability insurance. The Camping Cards are family cards. The campsites do not always grant unlimited discounts to which they have committed themselves to the issuers of the cards. In many cases, the card is withheld during the stay. At campsites that require an identity card (especially in Scandinavian countries), an identity card that is valid for one year and on whose magnetic strip the data is stored will be issued against payment of a fee without presenting such a card.

For many years the Camping Card International (CCI) had almost a monopoly in Europe, only in the Scandinavian countries was the Camping Card Scandinavia (CCS) required equal or preferential. Since 2012, other cards such as "ACSI Club ID" (ACSI) and "Camping Key Europe" (CKE) have been on the market, to which the old card systems have partially been transferred (for example, in Scandinavia with the introduction of Camping Key Europe (CKE) the Camping Card Scandinavia (CCS) is obsolete).

  • Camping Card International (CCI): Internationally recognized identity card for camping tourists. It is published by the three international umbrella organizations of camping, car and tourism clubs, namely the FICC (Fédération Internationale de Camping et de Caravanning), AIT (Alliance Internationale de Tourisme) and FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile). The CCI is available in Germany, for example, from ACE (Auto Club Europa), AvD (Automobilclub von Deutschland), ARCD (Auto- und Reiseclub Deutschland), VCD (Verkehrsclub Deutschland) or DCC (German Camping Club). You can also register directly with the Fédération Française de Camping et Caravaning. Advantages of the CCI stated by the providers: Included liability insurance, which regulates cases of damage that are inflicted on others while camping (personal injury and property damage). Security for the course operator that the fees will be received for at least 7 days. Some European campsites grant discounts on personal fees when the CCI is presented, mainly in the high season.
  • Camping Key Europe (CKE): identity card for camping tourists. Mandatory in Sweden for the places affiliated with the SRC (former Scandinavia Card included). Advantages stated by the providers: Included liability insurance (subordinate), which regulates cases of damage that are inflicted on others when camping (personal injury and property damage) and camping-related accident protection. Discounts on participating campsites.
  • ACSI Club ID card: identity card for camping tourists. Advantages stated by the provider: Included liability insurance, which regulates damage cases that are inflicted on others while camping (personal injury and property damage). An additional card is required to take advantage of discounts at the campsites participating in the ACSI-CC program.

In addition to camping cards with the "Camper ID" function, discount cards from various issuers are also offered under this name, and when they are presented, participating camping and mobile home pitches receive various kinds of discounts (discounts or special prices at certain times (usually in the low-capacity off-season), free of charge Use of special facilities, etc.). The best-known discount systems are issued by the Dutch ACSI, the ACSI-Campingcard , by the German ADAC, the Camp Card or by the originally French Campingtravelclub, the camping checks . The acceptance on campsites varies from country to country and can range from a few hundred places to over three thousand places. In addition to the internationally operating discount card systems, regional associations and economic operators also offer other discount card systems with low acceptance, usually spatially limited. These include B. the Camping Navigator , the Camping Card Achterhoek or the Camping Pass .

Prepaid systems also work in the same way as a discount card system, such as the France Passion system, which is mostly used in France , or the Landvergnügen system, which is set up analogously in Germany . An annual place guide is purchased with an annual stamp or vignette to be attached to the vehicle. This vignette entitles you to a one-time free overnight stay with the affiliated partners (named in the guide), which are usually farms, agricultural and forestry companies, and occasionally also restaurants.
