The German Camping Club (DCC) is a German camping organization and was founded by Max Eckert on September 22, 1948 in Munich . The aim was to build a camping infrastructure in Germany. For this purpose, the DCC published its first campsite directory in 1949 . The DCC still publishes the DCC Camping Guide Europe every yearout whose roots represent this first campsite directory. The camping guide now includes around 6000 European campsites, which are described in detail with up to 42 pictograms and contact details. Uniform camping standards were enforced as early as the 1970s and the foundations were laid for the successful creation of recreational campsites in Germany. In the meantime, the DCC is also active on the internet with the online camping guide www.3in1campen.de and regularly helps thousands of campers with planning.

The current presidium with President Andreas Jörn, Dieter Albert (secretary) and Michael Woltmann as treasurer represents the club at home and abroad. The DCC regional associations and DCC local clubs inform campers within Germany about interesting facts at various in-house exhibitions and trade fairs throughout Germany.

The DCC awards various awards and prizes on the occasion of the annual spring trade fairs. On the occasion of the big spring fair CMT , which takes place annually in Stuttgart, the DCC awards manufacturer with the DCC safety award . The DCC safety award recognizes the DIN and standard-compliant construction of motorhomes and caravans. The DCC Technology Award , which has been presented since November 2014 as part of Touristik und Caravaning International in Leipzig, honors the accessories industry. European campsites are in the foreground at the Reise / Camping trade fair , which takes place annually in Essen and has been sponsored by the DCC since the beginning. The DCC awards the DCC Europe Prize for campsites , which is awarded annually to a maximum of six campsites, one space per country, as well as the DCC Platinum Award since 2014. It honors former winners of the DCC Europe Prize who have maintained, if not improved, their standard for at least 10 years. The prize is only awarded to two campsites per year, one from Germany and one from other European countries. In the run-up to this fair, the DCC also awards the German Camping Prize to personalities, facilities and institutions. The award winners - altruistically - did a great job in the field of camping. At the Caravan Salon , which takes place annually in Düsseldorf, the DCC seal of trust is awarded to specialist dealers. The system of "DCC advantage places PLUS" and DCC advantage places is popular with campers. Special conditions apply to members of the DCC at these campsites. From July 27 to August 4, 2018, the German Camping Club hosted the 87th FICC rally in Paaren im Glien near Berlin.

Association

  • 22 regional associations
  • 188 local and district clubs
  • The German Tent Youth is the youth organization of the DCC

Campers who are active in the DCC have various options: As a DCC member, they can only use the various member services, but can also get involved in the regional associations and local clubs. The DCC is divided into 22 regional associations and 202 local clubs, which in turn are subordinate to the regional associations. They all come together under the umbrella of the German Camping Club. Each regional association and each local club has a DCC caravan and motor caravan advisor. These are volunteer campers who undergo further technical training and pass on their knowledge to the club members. They are headed by the Federal Caravan and Motor Caravan Officer.
