Canadian Federation of Engineering Students
The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (abbreviated CFES ) is the nationwide association of technical students who collectively represent over 51,000 technical students in Canada . The association was founded on the one hand to connect technical students beyond the boundaries of their universities, on the other hand to strengthen the image of technical students in the public. The associations of members are found across Canada and are divided into the following four regions: West, Ontario , Québec and Atlantic.
A major concern of CFES is to empower technical students academically, socially, and financially. This is completed by the possibility of exchanging ideas and information between the individual member associations. It does this through engineering projects and highlighting the achievements and talents of the students.
The association's annual meeting, the CFES Congress, provides technical students from across Canada with an opportunity to meet, discuss important issues, and decide on the future direction and activities of CFES. The congress is organized every January by a different university in a different city in Canada.
CFES also organizes other activities such as:
Canadian Engineering Competition - an example of what excellence students can create, specializing in technical skills and soft skills. Further information (as well as pictures and a video) is available on the CEC website. The Project Magazine , a national magazine by and for technical students from Canada, published three times a year. Further education - e.g. B. Academic summer courses that provide technical students with insights and knowledge in areas that go beyond regular studies and where you can meet new people.
