Candiano
Candiano is the name of a tribunician Venetian patrician family . Family members included Doges of Venice and bishops.
The Candiano were among the most powerful and influential families in the early days of the Venetian Republic, which was marked by power struggles . Together with the Participazio and Orseolo , it was they who provided most of the Doges of Venice from 810 to the constitutional reform of 1172.
