Canopus (rocket)
Canopus is the name of an Argentine sounding rocket . It was used both in one stage and in multiple stages.
The single-stage Canopus was called Canopus 2 and had a height of 4.67 m and a diameter of 0.28 cm with a mass of 280 kg. This version was launched on April 16, October 23 and December 23, 1969 from the CELPA launch site and brought payloads of 50 kg to an altitude of 150 km.
Equipped with an Orion 2 upper stage , the rocket was called Rigel . Four bundled Canopus missiles with a fifth Canopus as the second stage formed the Castor missile (A) .
