Lighthouse at Cap d'Artrutx

Cap d'Artrutx refers to both the cape on the southwestern tip of the Spanish island of Menorca and the place that developed on this cape. Cap d'Artrutx belongs to the municipality of Ciutadella .

The place forms a contiguous settlement area with the eastern places Cala en Bosch and Son Xoriguer . Unlike the two neighboring towns, Cap d'Artrutx does not have its own beach. The townscape is more shaped by villas and apartment buildings than by large hotel complexes. The symbol of Cap d'Artrutx is the black and white painted lighthouse . It was built in 1859 and increased in 1970. Mallorca is 38 kilometers away and clearly visible on the horizon.
