Capital FM - Das Hauptstadtradio was a private radio station from Bern . From January 23, 2006, Capital FM broadcast an information and music program for the Canton of Bern . The station offered hourly and half-hourly news bulletins during prime time. Regional topics and traffic and weather information were deepened.

In 1983 the media company Espace Media launched the radio channel Radio extraBE (later extraBERN), on whose frequencies the successor broadcaster Capital FM made its debut in 2006.

Musically, Capital FM played a mixture of the 1980s, 1990s and current hits for its listeners and emphasized the variety. The moderator team includes chief moderator Dominique Hofer and Monika Buser in the morning program.

Until 2011, Capital FM was part of the Espace Media division of the Tamedia group. Since December 12, 2011, the station has been owned by Zürichsee Medien AG, which already belongs to Radio Zürisee .

On March 7, 2013 it was announced that the station would be renamed Radio Bern 1 . On April 23, 2013, the station ceased operations.

Location and frequencies

Capital FM broadcast from the studios in Bern. The station had taken over the transmission frequencies from the former Radio Extra Bern . It could be received over three FM frequencies:
