Radio Zürisee , the “Seesender”, is a private Swiss radio that first went on air on November 1, 1983. This makes it one of the first private radio stations in Switzerland.

history

Radio Zürisee was founded by Buchdruckerei Stäfa AG, in which it was initially only able to hold 10% of the share capital due to government regulations. In 1988, this resulted in “Zürichsee Medien AG”. The first studio location was Stäfa . In 1992 the station and its studios moved to Rapperswil .

The majority of shares in Radio Zürisee are now owned by Zürichsee Medien AG , based in Stäfa. The station is financed through the sale of radio spots. In 2008, Radio Zürisee took over the Bundeshaus radio from its founder Andreas Käsermann, which is responsible for reporting from the Bundeshaus for 16 private radios.

In 2011 Radio Zürisee got a "sister" station: the Tamedia group sold the Bernese Radio Capital FM to Zürichsee Medien AG . Today Radio Bern 1 .

Transmission areas

The three strong main transmitters are Uetliberg on 106.7 MHz (since 2009), Bachtel on 107.4 MHz and Etzel on 88.4 MHz (since 2011) and nine other frequencies that cover the “32” Zurich-Glarus concession area. The transmission area extends over the cantons of Zurich , St. Gallen (See / Gaster), Schwyz (Ausserschwyz), Schaffhausen and Glarus . The station can also be heard on the Internet and DAB +.
